Welcome to Smart Timing Steel Limited About us Smart Timing Steel Limited (STS) is a sole subsidiary of Smart Timing Holdings Limited. Starting from 1997, Smart Timing focused in selling steel to South China, mainly serving customers in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Lecong. The main products traded were Hot Rolled Steel, Cold Rolled Steel, Wire Rods, Deformed Bars, Galvanized Steel, and PPGI. Guided by the firm value of “trading steel honestly”, its reputation for performance, delivery and service grew, notwithstanding the Asian crisis of the late 90’s, amongst the key players including Cargill, Macsteel, Stemcor, not to mention numerous steel customers in China. In 2000, Smart Timing received the honor of being appointed by TATA Steel as their sole agent for the South China market. The list of suppliers who were willing to channel their marketing and sales through Smart Timing continuously expanded to include steel mills from Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Russia and Latin America, including companies such as Usiminas, CSN, AMT, Gerdau, Siderar, Essar, Bhushan, Krakatau, SUS, TCR and Yieh Group, Sysco, Shangshing…… The customer base also grew and its geographical distribution extended across the entire Chinese coast line. Tonnage surpassed the milestone of 100,000mt in 2003. Witnessing the unprecedented expansion of steel capacity in China, the management decided to shift focus from import to export ex China. In 2004 and 2005, representative offices were set up in Beijing and Shanghai to build a more direct and efficient access to reputable suppliers in mainland China. Currently, STS works directly with many Chinese mills, among which we can include Angang, Baotau, Capital Steel, Panhua, Zongheng, Forward Group, Laiwu, Jinan, Shagang, Baosteel, Wisco, Pingxiang, Xiangtan, and Guanggang………… Our expansion has also been supported by several regional and global banks. STS now ranks high in credit rating with banks such as HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of China, OCBC, Hang Seng Bank, and China Construction Bank Asia.
